Convicted rapist who has been on the run for 17 years is to be extradited to Massachusetts

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A convicted Massachusetts rapist who has been on the run for nearly seventeen years is now in custody awaiting extradition.

The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed that Tuen Kit Lee was arrested Tuesday in Danville, California.

Lee fled Massachusetts during his trial in 2007, but was still convicted of rape and kidnapping.

Earlier this year, Massachusetts State Police discovered images on social media that appeared to show Lee.

Police were able to trace these images back to the owner of a flower shop in Diablo, California.

Lee was arrested and is being held pending extradition to Massachusetts.
