One dead and others injured after accident in Elk Grove Village

One person was killed and several others were injured in a traffic accident in Elk Grove Village late Monday.

The two-vehicle accident occurred near the intersection of Meacham and Biesterfield Road, according to several media reports.

Meacham Road remains closed from Texas Street and Dakota Street, while Biesterfield Road remains closed between Home Avenue and Michigan Lane.

Further details on the crash are expected later today.

The Cook County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy on a crash victim is scheduled for later today.
