Police in South Australia and Victoria are again searching for convicted child rapist Allan Hopkins over alleged crimes

A convicted child abductor and rapist is on the run after allegedly committing another crime against a teenager.

Police in South Australia are appealing for public assistance to help find 44-year-old Allan Hopkins, who is wanted for a “serious sexual offense” against a child under 18.

It is understood he may have crossed the border into Victoria.

Police there are investigating but believe he is not in the state.

Hopkins was described as Caucasian, 185 centimeters tall, with a heavy build, short brown hair and brown eyes. He has a skull tattoo on his upper right arm.

He is believed to be driving a gray 2022 Mazda BT50 ute with South Australian license plate XC101T, police said in a statement.

The 44-year-old is still known to the police.

He was convicted of the 2007 kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl who was sleeping next to her friend at her family home in north Adelaide.

According to The Advertiser, he raped the girl at a nearby school.

Hopkins pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison in 2015.

According to 7News, he was considered a high-risk offender and was placed on a supervision order by the Department of Corrections, but that expired last month.

The 44-year-old was spotted driving through a bottle shop last week.

A brother of the suspect told 9News on Tuesday it was “really heartbreaking to see” his brother, who was allegedly involved in something like this, “happen again.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 131 444 or triple-0.
