Police-involved shooting in Hialeah under investigation – NBC 6 South Florida

Authorities are investigating after a police officer shot a man during a traffic stop in Hialeah on Tuesday evening.

Hialeah police said they are investigating a non-fatal shooting involving an officer at the corner of West 12th Avenue and 29th Street.

Officers were conducting a traffic stop for a stolen vehicle when a confrontation occurred, police said. An officer fired his weapon, striking the offender.

Hialeah Fire Department said they took a 35-year-old man who was shot in the hands, wrist and shoulder to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident, which is common practice in police shootings.
