Jeremy Renner suffered from “self-doubt” after accident

Jeremy Renner struggled with “self-doubt” before making his comeback as an actor.
The 53-year-old star was seriously injured in a snow plow accident in January 2023 and Jeremy feared he would not be able to perform “basic duties” while filming the third season of “Mayor of Kingstown.”
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I had never felt anything like that before… I was plagued by self-doubt.”
The Hollywood star was unsure if he would be able to fulfill his duties when he arrived on set.
Jeremy recalled thinking, “I don’t know if I’m physically capable of doing this… because, you know, you spend 12, 14 hours on set. Whether you’re doing stunts or not, it’s exhausting.”
However, Jeremy found that he no longer had the same energy levels as he used to.
The actor said: “I fell asleep in the middle of a scene.”
Jeremy was actually told after his snow plowing accident that he would not run again.
He recently told PEOPLE: “It meant so much to me because getting out of the wheelchair, hobbling around with the cane and hearing that I would never be able to walk properly again and never be able to run again gave me quite a lot of hope.”
The film star recalls that his early progress encouraged him enormously.
Jeremy, who broke more than 30 bones in the accident, said: “You have something on your side. If you have hope, hope is a powerful ally. Many things help us build hope, and progress helps us build hope. That’s the simple thing.”
“Failures don’t feel like they are failures, but they also give us hope, because failures can bring progress. You can’t really move forward without failing. You have to have both. You have to fail to succeed.”
