Kayaker found dead in Sugar Creek, fourth death from storm

The body of a kayaker was found in Sugar Creek Tuesday afternoon, according to a Bella Vista police news release. Authorities were searching for Christopher Jaglin, 59, after he was reported missing. Police said Jaglin was last seen just before noon Sunday as he prepared to go kayaking in Sugar Creek in Bella Vista. The Benton County coroner confirmed that Jaglin is the fourth storm-related death in Benton County. A woman’s body was recovered from Little Sugar Creek Tuesday, marking the third death in the county. Her identity has not yet been released. Linda Dorey, 80, died early Sunday morning when storms caused a tree to fall on her home on Canal Street in Rogers, near Beaver Lake. Joyce Refshauge was dependent on oxygen and died when the power went out.

On Tuesday, the body of a woman was recovered from Little Sugar Creek. This is the third death in the area. Her identity has not yet been released.
