According to a police report, a man was arrested on a warrant in the city of New Chester who was wanted for a crime

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A 45-year-old Grand Marsh man was arrested Saturday after officers learned he had a Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest on a felony charge, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers said they found the suspect at his residence in the 2900 block of 3rd Lane in the city of New Chester.

After police identified him, he ran into the woods, according to officers.

While officers set up a perimeter, a sniffer dog was used to track the suspect through the woods, authorities report.

Officers said the suspect did not comply with verbal instructions and an electronic tracking device was used during his arrest.

After being medically examined by Lifestar EMS, he was taken to the Adams County Jail, officials said.

He faces several charges, including a warrant issued by the Department of Corrections and resisting or obstructing an officer.
