The teenager who appears in US television series When the heart calls is in hospital after falling from a fifth-floor balcony.

Actress Mamie Laverock is on a ventilator after suffering a bizarre accident in which she fell from a fifth-floor balcony.

The 19-year-old, famous for his leading role in the long-running US television series When the heart callssuffered a “medical emergency” on May 11, according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for her medical treatment.

Her mother, Nicole Compton, “was able to arrive in time to save her life” and took her to a local hospital.

Mamie was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital, where her condition was classified as “unclear” but showed “signs of improvement.”

Her family announced her condition on their GoFundMe page, saying: “We are deeply saddened to announce that on May 26, Mamie, who had been in intensive care for the past two weeks, was escorted from a secure area of ​​the hospital and taken to a balcony from which she fell five stories.

“She has suffered life-threatening injuries, has undergone numerous extensive operations and is currently on a ventilator.

“We are all devastated and in shock at this extremely difficult time.”

Mamie’s page has raised more than $15,000 so far.

Several of her TV co-stars took to social media to ask their fans to think of her and pray for her.

Johannah Newmarch, 52, who plays Mamie’s film mother Molly Sullivan in When the heart callssaid on X: “I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for everyone caring for Mamie. Please help if you can. “They need all the support they can get to get through this.”

Erin Krakow, 39, played in When the heart calls for 10 years, and her co-star Loretta Walsh shared with her followers that they had donated to Mami’s GoFundMe and urged her fans to do the same.

Mamie has played nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan in the hit Hallmark series since 2014 and received a 2015 Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Television Series – Recurring Young Actress Under 10 Years Old a year later.

After a year-long break from the series, she reprised her role in 2023 for the show’s 10th season.
