Hot Metro Atlanta Real Estate Market Zip Codes for Buyers

Many homes go on sale in the spring and summer. Now may be a good time for buyers to start looking at the market.

ATLANTA — It’s the time of year when metro Atlanta’s real estate market tends to be hot. Not only are many people looking to buy before the next school year begins, but many homes also go on sale during the spring and summer.

There are currently several hot ZIP codes in metro Atlanta that are particularly affordable.

Jasmine Iverson is among the potential buyers studying the market. She gave up on buying two years ago when she felt the Atlanta real estate market had become too competitive. She feels she is now in a better position to buy without having to compromise on some of the things that matter most to her.

“For me now, I’m more established in my career. I make more money. It makes more sense to me now,” Iverson said.

She’s considering the East Point area because it fits her $400,000 budget. While this might mean a longer commute to work, it also takes into account neighborhood schools and safety in different neighborhoods.

Real estate agent Hubert Tate said he was now seeing more and more people ready to embrace the market. He tells them the 30344 ZIP code in East Point and considers it one of the hippest and most affordable communities in the metro. Its proximity to downtown Atlanta, the airport and major redevelopment projects underway place it in an ideal location.

“It’s a hidden gem of Fulton County because the prices are so low,” Tate said. “This house here is under $300,000. It’s still very affordable…within the Fulton County boundary.”

Tate said the same was true for nearby Hapeville, where we found new homes being built for around $400,000. Tate also pointed out that Atlanta’s Upper West Side, also known as West Midtown, is attracting new owners because the community is transforming.

“(Zip codes) 30318, 30314, those areas are really moving,” he said. “Mainly because there are a lot of investors interested in this area. For example, the city will put the Bellwood Quarry there, which will be the largest park in the city, as well as Chattahoochee Works.

Another hot ZIP code is 30310. With access to the BeltLine and the popular Lee and White Food Hall, the West End in southwest Atlanta has become a must-visit destination for many looking to find a more affordable house and to live closer to the city.
