Hollywood makeup artist recovers after stabbing allegedly committed by her ex-boyfriend

A 35-year-old Hollywood makeup artist is recovering in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in her home.

Allie Shehorn was attacked in her Shadow Hills home early on the morning of May 23 by a man she had obtained a restraining order against days earlier, friends reported on a GoFundMe account set up to help pay for her medical expenses. Her friends said she was a victim of domestic violence and that the suspect, whose name was not released by police, was arrested and released days before the stabbing.

Shehorn’s film credits as a makeup artist include “Rebel Moon,” “Family Switch” and “Babylon,” according to her IMDB profile. She underwent multiple surgeries for her injuries and was in intensive care for several days, but was released to another part of the hospital on Tuesday, according to her friends’ notes on GoFundMe.

After the operation, she was intubated, but in the days that followed, friends shared photos of her from her hospital room without any breathing tubes.

“Allie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness and love,” the GoFundMe page states. “No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience, especially someone as compassionate and caring as Allie.”

Los Angeles police and fire departments confirmed that detectives and emergency medical technicians responded to reports of a stabbing victim in the Shadow Hills neighborhood shortly after 4:30 a.m. on May 23. The attacker fled the scene before police arrived, police said.

The man who allegedly attacked Shehorn, according to the GoFundMe post, is an actor she met on the set of “Rebel Moon.” Her friends described him as an extra.

“I knew him personally for two years and was and still am shocked that this happened. This person was part of many people’s lives and seemed stable,” her friend Jed Dornoff wrote in the GoFundMe post. “This came as a surprise to me and others who were close to Allie and him.”

On her social media accounts, Shehorn has posted photos of herself working with actors on small and large film productions, applying makeup and prosthetics. She has also shared images of her elaborate sidewalk chalk art.

Dornoff wrote that Shehorn’s attacker was arrested by police in Texas at the Mexican border. The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
