5 people arrested for kidnapping, shooting and stabbing in Bartow County, sheriff’s office says

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – Five people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, stabbing and shooting of a man in Bartow County, the sheriff’s office said.

On Sunday, sheriff’s officers responded to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center at 960 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, where a 32-year-old man was admitted to the emergency room with a gunshot and stab wound.

The sheriff’s office said the victim told officers he was “shot, stabbed and then beaten by multiple individuals while being held against his will at a home on Wagon Wheel Drive in Indian Village, approximately 15 miles south of the hospital.”

The victim said he was allowed to leave the building after the attack. He was seriously injured but is expected to survive.

Officers went to the Wagon Wheel Drive address and arrested five suspects. The sheriff’s office said “all those involved knew each other” and no further arrests are expected at this time.

The suspects and the charges against them are listed below:

  • Jaleyne Elymar Vivas-Blanco, 20, of Acworth – attempted murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence
  • Jerry Scott Taylor, 42, of Acworth – attempted murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Austin Reed Sedlaczek, 24, of Acworth – attempted murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, obstructing prosecution
  • Micheal Charles Wade, 33, of Acworth – Tampering with Evidence
  • Stephanie Lynn Holbrook, 52, of Cartersville – Tampering with Evidence
