Police cordon off alley after person was reportedly attacked following a ‘brawl’ with a ‘large group’

On Tuesday evening (May 28), police cordoned off an alleyway in Oldham following reports that a person had been attacked following a fight. The narrow footpath off Wellington Road was cordoned off and an evidence tent was erected at the scene.

Witnesses from the area reported seeing a “brawl” involving a large group of people on a nearby sports field, which then spilled into the alley. Local residents claimed they saw someone being attacked on the narrow path.

Details of the incident have not been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police. Forensic officers were also photographed at the scene collecting evidence.

Another woman who lives nearby and heard the rescue helicopter flying overhead added: “I saw a fight in the back, just a lot of people fighting. I didn’t see what happened after that.”
