Car accident costs 17-year-old student from Amboy her life

OREGON Officers with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident in the 7000 block of West Henry Road in Oregon at approximately 8:41 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22.

According to the Ogle County report, which is still under investigation, a westbound vehicle lost control on the gravel road and entered the south ditch, where it overturned.

The 17-year-old driver from rural Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene. A teenage passenger was taken to KSB Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Ogle County officials were assisted at the scene by Polo Fire/EMS and Mt. Morris Fire.
