Person killed in rear-end collision on I-64 in Newport News: VSP

NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia – A 26-year-old man was killed in a rear-end collision on Interstate 64 in Newport News Sunday evening, Virginia State Police (VSP) said.

According to VSP, the accident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday at mile marker 250. Officials said a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound when it was struck from behind by a Volvo XC60.

The Silverado rolled over several times before landing on its roof. 26-year-old Morgan Johnson was killed.

VSP identified the Volvo driver as Gregory Pugh Jr., 30, who was not injured in the crash. He was charged with reckless driving.
