2 injured in school bus and car crash on Sacramento Avenue in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (May 28, 2024) – A student was injured in a school bus crash at the corner of Sacramento and Merced avenues Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol South Lake Tahoe Division Center, the bus crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. For an unknown reason, a driver ignored a stop sign and collided with a Lake Tahoe Unified School District school bus.

CHP and paramedics subsequently responded and transported one student with minor injuries and the driver to a hospital for treatment. Although there were more than a dozen students on the bus, only one student was injured.

After the collision, police investigated the accident but made no arrests.
