Roseburg police arrested a man Saturday night following a reported assault incident.

A report from the RPD said at 7 p.m., 36-year-old Robert George believed a victim had his wallet and wanted it back. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The victim did not have the wallet and attempted to get away from George.

She eventually sprayed George with pepper spray as he approached her. The suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face approximately five times, dislodging her front teeth. George was found by officers and ran off on foot before attempting to enter a nearby residence. The homeowner pushed George out of the house and he continued to run.

Officers deployed their tasers and took George into custody. He was charged with fourth-degree assault, second-degree disturbing the peace, obstructing a peace officer, trespassing, and warrants issued by the Sutherlin Police Department.

Bail was set at $21,250.
