Thurston man arrested on multiple charges after domestic incident

THURSTON, NY (WETM) – A Thurston man was arrested on numerous charges following a domestic incident in Steuben County.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Garrett S. Ragusa was arrested on Monday, May 27, after allegedly choking and restraining another person and damaging their property.

It is also alleged that he has already been convicted of a family crime in the past five years.

As a result, Ragusa was accused of:

• Aggravated family offense, a class E felony
• First degree false imprisonment, a class E felony
• Criminal obstruction of breathing, a Class A misdemeanor
• Fourth degree criminal damage, a class A misdemeanor

He was arraigned before the Central Prosecution Court and held without bail.
