John Horn High School student arrested after gun found in car

MESQUITE, Texas – A student at John Horn High School in Mesquite ISD was arrested after school officials found a gun in his vehicle on campus, police said.

An anonymous tip prompted a search in which officers found the firearm in the student’s vehicle on campus in the 3300 block of E. Cartwright Road in Mesquite, police said. The student was subsequently arrested on a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon in a prohibited place.

The student was not identified and no further details were immediately available.
