77-year-old man charged with lewdness after incident at rest stop on I-84

A man is accused of indecent acts at a motorway service station in Willington.

WILLINGTON, CT – A 77-year-old man was charged with public nuisance following an incident at a rest stop near Interstate 84, state police said.

The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. at the Travel Centers of America rest area at 327 Ruby Road in Willington.

According to an arrest report, state police had received calls reporting a man exposing himself standing near the front door of the establishment. After arriving at the scene, state police found that the man had not only exposed himself, but had also performed sexual acts on himself near a row of picnic tables, according to an arrest report.

The man, whose address is in Willimantic, was charged with second-degree public nuisance and breach of the peace, according to a police report.
