Hartford man dies in motorcycle accident

A passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured.

HARTFORD, Connecticut – A Hartford man has died from injuries sustained when his motorcycle collided with a car Sunday afternoon.

John Marrero, 20, of Hartford, died from his injuries in the accident Monday morning.

At around 2 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about an accident involving a car and a motorcycle in the area of ​​Zion Street, at the intersection with Harbison Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a red Yamaha motorcycle and a gray Nissan Murano in the middle of the road. The driver of the motorcycle and a 22-year-old woman who was sitting on the motorcycle were lying on the ground with serious injuries.

They were both taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital for treatment of serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene. She was later taken to Hartford Hospital for minor injuries.
