One dead after airboat accident over the weekend in DeSoto County

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Officials have identified the man who died in an airboat accident in DeSoto County over the weekend.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to an incident involving a single vessel with three occupants on board on the Peace River in DeSoto County on Saturday.

The boat was piloted by Michael Flint of Buckingham, Florida. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The other two passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital. Officials said the boat struck a tree branch, but the accident was ongoing.
