Buffalo Airport Sees Increase in Memorial Day Travelers | National

As Memorial Day ushers in a time of remembrance and celebration across the United States, Western New York becomes a bustling center of activity. The lure of a weekend festival in downtown Niagara Falls is just one of many attractions that draw crowds to the area. Adam Campos of Scripps News reports live from Buffalo Niagara Airport, where expectations for increased holiday travel were met, albeit with a quiet start to the morning. The airport saw a 16% increase in arrivals from the previous Memorial Day, outpacing other upstate airports like Albany, Syracuse and Rochester. Despite a calmer start to the morning, the pace picked up with the influx of passengers for midday flights. The festive atmosphere in and around Buffalo is palpable, with travelers flocking regularly, contributing to a weekend of joyful gatherings and successful participation in local events.
