Video Shows Acworth Police Officers Rescuing Man During Seizure – WSB-TV Channel 2

ACWORTH, Ga. – New video shows two Acworth police officers saving a man’s life at a gas station earlier this month.

Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell was live at 4 p.m. at the gas station where the man was rescued for Channel 2 Action News

The situation was serious and the police quickly took action.

They believe the man was close to getting back into his car when they found him slumped at a gas pump right next to his car door.

Body cameras showed that these officers had no hesitation at all. You can hear the urgency as two Acworth police officers spring into action.

“He appeared to be having a seizure, then passed out and stopped breathing,” Acworth police spokesman Eric Minstretta said.

After performing CPR for several minutes, they breathed a sigh of relief as they saved the man.

“The police department is very proud of both officers who worked really hard to bring this man back to life,” Minstretta said. “If he had had this medical emergency in his vehicle, he could have caused an accident and caused further injury to himself or someone else

One of the officers is already receiving praise for saving someone’s life at a seniors’ facility less than a month ago. Now she is getting recognition again.

Acworth police told Newell that they train for situations like this all the time, which is why this story has a happy ending.
