Two suspects arrested in Kansas in Texas murder case | Texas

HALTOM CITY, Texas — According to a recent report from Haltom City Police, two suspects have been arrested in a murder case in Kansas.

The arrests followed a thorough investigation that began on the evening of May 23, 2024.

The murder victim was identified as Eric Martiz Hill, Jr.

Haltom City Police enlisted the assistance of the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest the suspects, 23-year-old Eli Gaibeth Martinez Sanchez and 24-year-old Deja Shanta Burt Roberts.

After receiving information that the suspects may be in Kansas, Haltom City Police traveled to the state to further the case. Since Saturday, there has been close communication and coordination between Haltom City Police and local Kansas authorities. This cooperation led to the arrest of Roberts and Martinez Sanchez in Wellington, Kansas. They are currently being held on $100,000 bail on murder charges.

Haltom City Detectives are currently interviewing the suspects and gathering additional evidence. The Haltom City Police Department thanked the United States Marshals Service, Topeka Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Haysville City Police Department, Kansas, and Wellington City Police Department for their invaluable assistance in this case.
