Ward Exco withdraws suspension of state chairman

All leaders of the Progressives Congress (APC) in Galadima District of Gusau have withdrawn their suspension of the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Dafulani.

Speaking to journalists in Gusau, Galadima District Chairman Alhaji Sani Ibrahim said the suspension was lifted following a reconciliation meeting with some disgruntled party members.

He said legitimate members of the district who had campaigned for the suspension of the party chairman were misled by some antics to create confusion in the party.

The APC chairman in Gusau local government, Abubakar Tijjani Dan’Aya, also praised the angry members for withdrawing the suspension imposed on the party chairman.

Dan’Aya said the eight members in question had been wrongly persuaded to suspend the party leader.

“We received the eight members who submitted a notice to the State APC Chairman for the withdrawal of the purported suspension letter,” he added.

He, however, said that the Galadima County Executive Committee had pledged its support to the State Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Dafulani.

In his remarks, the APC State Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, said that although the suspension of the chairman was difficult to achieve given the constitutional provisions of the party, stakeholders had instead opted for reconciliation.
