One dead after brawl leads to shooting in Fort Valley

It happened at the Royal Town Homes Apartments on Orange Street in Fort Valley.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — One person is dead and another has been arrested after shots were fired during a brawl in Fort Valley, according to Police Chief DJ Flores.

He says it happened around 10:16 p.m. Sunday at the Royal Town Homes Apartments on Orange Street in Fort Valley.

Flores says it started with some teenagers getting into a fight, and when adults joined in, the fights turned physical.

One person was shot and taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspected shooter left the scene before police arrived, Flores said.

Another person was arrested in connection with the shooting.

Flores said Fort Valley police are still searching for the shooter.
