Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Investigation Officer-involved stabbing in Morrison County

(KNSI) – The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office said a man was taken to the hospital following a stabbing incident involving a police officer late Saturday.

The traffic stop occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 25 south of Pierz. The officer stopped a person for speeding and possible driving under the influence. A news release states the suspect in this case failed the breathalyzer test.

When they were told they were under arrest, a struggle broke out. The sheriff’s office says the suspect was stabbed. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were flown out by helicopter.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is currently investigating the incident. The press release states that video has been turned over to the BCA.

The Little Falls Police Department, Life Link, Mayo Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol and Pierz First Response assisted on scene.
