WNBA: How Kayla McBride and the Minnesota Lynx eliminated Atlanta Dream

On Sunday night, the Minnesota Lynx, fresh off a commanding Saturday afternoon home win over the New York Liberty, arrived in Atlanta to take on the Dream.

Swish Call Photographer Christina Merrion was there to capture the action, which was highlighted by Kayla McBride going 6 of 7 on 3 and 10 of 12 overall as she scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Lynx to victory of 92. 79 victories.

Returning to the WNBA after sitting out last season, Tina Charles contributed 14 points for the Dream on Sunday. For the season, she averaged 13.3 points and 8.0 rebounds.

It was a quiet game for Allisha Gray, who finished with seven points on seven shots. However, Gray has made an impact in the Dream’s previous contests, averaging 15.5 points per game for the season.

In her first season with the Lynx, Courtney Williams served as the team’s primary playmaker. She finished Sunday with nine points, six rebounds and five assists.

Another new Lynx signing, Natisha Hiedeman leads the double team of Aerial Powers and Haley Jones.

Rhyne Howard led the Dream with 23 points, to go along with five rebounds, five assists and six steals. In four games, she is averaging 21.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals.
