Police: Actor killed in carjacking – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

LOS ANGELES (WISH) — The world of entertainment was struck by tragedy on Saturday: Former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was shot and killed during an attempted carjacking, police said.

Authorities reported that the 37-year-old actor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on the popular soap opera from 2020 to 2022, was leaving work with a co-worker when they were confronted by a thief around 3 a.m. Saturday, police said. The attacker opened fire on Wactor as he walked to his car.

Wactor was taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators apparently believe the motive for the shooting was an attempted theft of the catalytic converter from Wactor’s car.

The converter is a valuable car component that is often targeted by thieves because of its precious metal.

Police have launched an investigation into the shooting, but no suspects have been arrested.
