Accident in Pune: Father of accused minor in kidnapping case arrested and remanded in custody | News from India

Pune (Maharashtra) (India), May 27 (ANI): In a recent development, the father of the minor accused, who hit and killed two people with his Porsche, was taken to the Crime Branch and formally arrested in a kidnapping case.

After the Pune District Court granted custody of the accused father to the Pune Police in the driver kidnapping case related to the car accident, he was remanded in judicial custody in Yerwada Jail.

The accused hospital staff, the accused doctor and the grandfather of the accused minor have been taken to the CID. All three accused arrested in the blood sample tampering case have been remanded to police custody till May 30. The accused include two doctors, Dr Ajay Taware, head of the forensic department, and CMO Dr Srihari Halnor, and Atul Ghatakmalbe, another employee of the Sassoon Hospital.

Pune police have arrested another person in connection with the luxury car accident that killed two people on motorcycles in Pune city, officials said.

According to Pune Police officials, the arrested person is considered a suspect in connection with the alleged tampering with the minor’s blood sample.

The arrested accused was identified as Atul Ghatkamble, an employee of Sassoon Hospital.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said doctors at Sasson Hospital replaced the blood sample of the juvenile accused in the luxury car accident with another one and threw the genuine sample in the hospital’s dustbin.

Earlier, on the morning of May 25, the criminal police arrested the grandfather of the minor accused in the case.

Amitesh Kumar said the accused’s grandfather was arrested and a separate complaint was filed against him under sections 365 and 368 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On the night of May 19, the minor rammed the two IT experts, who were riding a motorcycle, with his fancy Porsche and killed them on the spot. (ANI)
