Man shot and hospitalized after shooting in Durham parking lot, police say

A man is in hospital Monday after being shot in Durham.

According to Durham police, the shooting occurred in the 4800 block of NC 55.

Police said they received a call about a shooting at the scene around 6:15 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim and the suspect shot at each other in the parking lot of a store on the block.

The emergency services took the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.
