Report: Kicker Brandon McManus accused of sexual assault during Jaguars flight

Two women filed lawsuits against kicker Brandon McManus and the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday night, claiming McManus sexually harassed them on a team flight, according to a report from ESPN.

The women — referred to in the lawsuit as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II — filed the suit Friday in civil court in Duval County Circuit Court, accusing McManus of harassing them while on duty on an international flight to London. They also claimed the Jaguars failed to supervise McManus and provide a safe environment for personnel on the flight, the report said.

According to an ESPN report, the women are demanding more than a million dollars and a jury trial.

As of 4 p.m. ET Monday, an online transcript of the lawsuit was not available on the Duval County Civil Court website.

Jacksonville did not re-sign McManus in the offseason and he signed a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Washington Commanders in March.

The Jaguars declined comment when contacted by The athlete. A Commanders spokesman said the team learned of the lawsuit Monday morning.

“We take allegations of this nature very seriously and are investigating the matter,” the spokesman said in a statement to The athlete“We have communicated with the league office and Brandon’s representative and will refrain from making any further comments at this time.”

A message left with McManus’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was not immediately returned.

Jacksonville played two consecutive games in London during the 2023 season. The team hosted the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium on October 1 before facing the Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 8.

The two women worked as flight attendants on the Jaguars’ charter flight on Sept. 28, 2023, and claimed McManus handed out $100 bills to encourage the flight attendants to drink and dance for him, according to ESPN’s report.

Jane Doe I claimed McManus tried to kiss her during turbulence while she was seated, and he twice rubbed himself against her while she was serving the meal. Jane Doe II claimed in the lawsuit that McManus rubbed himself against her while she was serving the second meal on the flight. Jane Doe II stayed on the second floor of the plane on the team’s flight from London to Jacksonville on Oct. 8 to avoid McManus, according to ESPN’s report.

McManus, 32, spent one season with the Jaguars after being released by the Denver Broncos after nine seasons. Last season, he made 30 of his 37 field goal attempts and all 35 of his extra point attempts.
