Laredo woman arrested after DPS finds stolen truck during routine traffic stop

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A routine traffic stop leads to the recovery of a suspected stolen vehicle.

According to reports, it happened at 8 a.m. on Saturday. At that time, a police officer stopped a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 50-year-old Claudia Ellis of Laredo at mile marker 52 on I-35.

A registration check revealed that the truck had been reported stolen to the San Antonio Police Department.

Ellis was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

She was taken to the La Salle County Jail.
