LA Metro bus driver attacked again by passenger in downtown LA – NBC Los Angeles

Another Metro employee was attacked while driving to the bus in downtown Los Angeles on Monday morning, authorities confirmed.

A woman, believed to be homeless, boarded the bus and got into a verbal altercation with the bus driver at around 9:45 a.m. on North Street Spring near Temple Avenue, Los Angeles police said.

The passenger took the driver’s glasses and left scratches on her face, police said.

When the suspect woman got off the bus, the driver chased her and another physical altercation ensued, according to LAPD.

Although the driver was able to get her glasses back, they were already broken, police added.

In response to the recent attack on subway operators, the transport company said it was “angry” that its “essential” bus driver had been attacked.

“Our employees have a right to a safe workplace and our customers have a right to a safe ride. We are intensifying our efforts to prevent crime in our system,” said Jose Ubaldo of LA Metro.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already left the area, police said.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made.

LAPD and LA Metro officials asked anyone with information to call the LA Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-222-TIPS or 800-222-8477.
