Allegheny County Police: Murder charges in North Braddock

Man accused of pointing a gun at a North Braddock pastor is charged with murder

TORTURE. YES. KRISTEN. THAT’S RIGHT. PASTOR GLEN, GERMANY HAS ANSWERED MANY DIFFERENT QUESTIONS FROM MANY DIFFERENT REPORTERS ACROSS THE LAST 24 HOURS. ONE OF THE QUESTIONS WE HAVE FOR HIM WAS: ARE YOU ANGRY AT THE MAN WHO TRIED TO SHOT YOU? OH I LOVE THIS MAN. I LOVE HIM WITH A PURE HEART. And the truth is, if you realize that some people have problems, and you realize that he has a problem, then how can I be mad at you? GRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE, PASTOR GLEN, GERMANY IS ANYTHING BUT ANGRY AND HE QUICKLY MAKES A JOKE WHEN I ASK HIM WHAT SECURITY MEASURES MAY BE STRENGTHENED. If we used metal detectors, many of our women would not make it through the church. THE SUPPORT OF OTHER CLERGY MEMBERS IN THE CHURCH HAS HELPED TO ELEVATE THE SPIRIT IN THE APARTMENT OF JESUS. I SAID FIRST: How are you and how is your brother and how is your community? After watching the video that shocked us all, Pastor Brenda Gregg called Germany’s brother and gave him some advice for the future: Don’t ignore and think that because I’m pretty you’re fine. PRETTY TOUGH. At least I think I am. BUT I NEEDED THIS SUPPORT. I needed to be able to call someone I needed. Gun violence came to Gregg’s pulpit in October 2022, when six people were injured in a shooting outside a memorial service at Destiny Faith Church. BUT THAT HAS NOT CHANGED. YOUR VIEW THAT THE CHURCH IS A SAFE SPACE. I have to believe that you know it has to be this way, otherwise I probably wouldn’t be doing the work I’m doing now. AND LIKE GREGG PASTOR, GERMANY DOES NOT BELIEVE ADDING ARMED SECURITY IS THE ANSWER. He doesn’t want to create an environment where fear is in the air. They want people to be welcomed into the church. But what I believe is that we need to be more careful and take better measures to filter out the people who are actually coming in and out of the church. Now Germany says the church will be open on Sunday. That was never a doubt for him. And he tells me that he will give his normal sermon on Sunday morning, just like he would any other Sunday in North Braddock. MIKE VALENTE. PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR. MIKE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. BERNARD POLITE was arraigned this morning on charges relating to the church incident, including attempted murder. RIGHT NOW HE’S IN ALLEGHENY
