Fatal motorcycle accident: Driver trapped in minibus at weekend

On Saturday 25 May, at approximately 5:30am, emergency services responded to a report that a minibus had collided with a tree in Bexon and the driver was trapped inside the bus.

Police officers immediately deployed rescue equipment to rescue the driver, who suffered an open fracture to one leg. He was taken to Owen King EU Hospital in a stable condition. The other person involved in the accident refused medical treatment and signed a release form.

Early this morning, around 3:00 a.m., firefighters were called to a traffic accident involving a motorcycle in Morne D’or, Jacmel. When personnel arrived, they found the motorcyclist seriously injured and without signs of life. Emergency care was initiated and the motorcyclist was taken to a medical facility where he was pronounced dead.

Three other people in the other vehicle involved in the Morne D’or accident refused medical attention and signed release forms.
