First Alert Weather: Rochester has so far been spared from strong storms

ROCHESTER, NY — It appears that central and eastern New York State took the brunt of severe weather this Memorial Day. Western New York did get some rain, but it was more of a run-of-the-mill shower. News 10NBC’s yellow First Alert remains in effect, however, with a slight chance of thunderstorms remaining into the early evening. We’re waiting for a cold front to move through in the next few hours, bringing drier, more stable air.

Thunderstorms are expected on Monday evening, then the skies will be mostly cloudy for the rest of the night. The low will be 60 degrees. It will be cloudier on Tuesday, with a few showers likely in the afternoon. It will remain windy and the high will be 68 degrees. On Wednesday the weather will be mostly dry and partly sunny. However, there will be no summer heat in sight, with temperatures remaining around 60 degrees.

For the rest of the week, a longer period of dry, sunny weather is expected until the beginning of next weekend.
