Interpol-wanted murder suspect Leo Acosta Sanchez was arrested during a traffic stop in Splendora, authorities say

SPLENDORA, Texas (KTRK) – A murder suspect wanted by the international police organization Interpol was arrested in Splendora.

Splendora police said Leo Acosta Sanchez was arrested during a traffic stop on Friday.

The department posted photos on social media of Sanchez handcuffed and sitting in the back seat of a police car.

Investigators have not released any information about the murder she is accused of, but said she was living in Texas illegally.

Authorities said the Department of Homeland Security assisted in the investigation.
