The Greater Houston Prayer Breakfast is celebrating its 49th anniversary and you can join them

HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Greater Houston Prayer Breakfast attracts more than 1,000 businessmen and women each year to hear a message of hope and inspiration from nationally renowned speakers. And once again, you can take part in this historic city-wide event.

On Wednesday, May 29, at the Hilton Americas, located at 1600 Lamar, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Mayor Whitmire and HPD Acting Police Chief Satterwhite, along with others, will gather for a time of encouragement and prayer.

The breakfast is sponsored by The Gathering-Houston, a discipleship ministry that sponsors events and small group Bible studies in the greater Houston area.

And this year’s guest speaker wants to bring hope to the community. Author and podcaster Carlos Whittaker is set to speak at the 49th Annual Greater Houston Prayer Breakfast. Whittaker, podcaster and author of “How to Human,” “Moment Maker” and “Kill the Spider,” brings hope to Houston as a breakfast keynote speaker.

Whittaker is supported by the power of a massive “Insta-familia”, his enthusiastic social media followers who log in daily to join forces with Carlos to find connections, do good and be in community. According to breakfast organizers, when Carlos walks into a room, people feel seen. Its superpower is creating spaces, online and in person, where people can safely engage in conversation about the topics that matter most but are often avoided. His motto: “Don’t take a stand on issues, walk with the people.” »
