Nine goals scored in 10 outings, two more than any player in the World Championship. A streak of six consecutive goals. An overtime winner. A gaudy 30 percent shooting percentage.

Although Sabers center Dylan Cozens failed to medal in the tournament – Team Canada finished fourth, losing the bronze medal game Sunday 4-2 to Buffalo defenseman Rasmus Dahlin and the team from Sweden – he ended his season on a good note.

Cozens struggled with the Sabers in 2023-24, collecting just 18 goals and 42 points in 79 games, a drop of 13 goals and 21 points after a breakout campaign.

The Yukon native’s three-week stay to represent his country in the Czech Republic should therefore boost his confidence after a disappointing season.

Other Sabers have thrived at the World Championship. Here are their final figures:

– Dahlin had two goals and nine points in 10 games, including an assist on Sweden’s first goal Sunday before Cozens tied the score.

– Winger JJ Peterka scored five goals and nine points for Team Germany in eight games.

– Defenseman Bowen Byram scored one goal and five points in nine games for Canada. He received a one-match suspension for hitting Jesse Puljujarvi of the Finnish team.

– Defenseman Owen Power had one goal and six points in 10 games for Canada.

– Winger Victor Olofsson scored one goal and four points in nine games for the Swedish team.
