Melissa Schuman has released a text message that Nick Carter allegedly sent her after he raped her.

Melissa, who was part of the American girl group Dream, claimed that Nick raped her in his Santa Monica apartment in 2003.

The 39-year-old first made the allegations in a blog post on her website in 2017.

In the allegations, Melissa said she was an 18-year-old virgin when Nick allegedly raped her in his home.

At the time, Nick denied the allegations, saying the sex was consensual.

Then, in February of last year, Melissa was included in a countersuit that Nick had filed against Shannon Ruth – who had sued him two months earlier for alleged sexual assault.

In April 2023, Melissa sued Nick for sexual assault and battery in connection with the alleged rape in 2003.

Both lawsuits are currently pending.

In the documentary, Melissa revealed the text messages she received after the alleged rape.

“Why did you let me do this?” was one message from Nick.

On the screen, Melisa said: “This text message has left me totally unsettled.”

“I confided in my manager that I would go to the police and report the crime. He told me, ‘(Nick) has the most powerful trial lawyer in the country.'”

However, Melissa’s former manager denied that she had informed him about the alleged rape.

In a 2017 statement to Page Six, Nick said: “I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s allegations.

“Melissa never expressed to me during or after our relationship that we had done anything without our consent.

“We then recorded a song together and performed together. I have always been respectful and supportive towards Melissa, both personally and professionally.

“This is the first time I have heard of these allegations, nearly two decades later. It goes against my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause discomfort or harm to anyone.”
