Thieves break into two South Side liquor stores: CPD

Chicago police are investigating two flash burglaries at 87th Street and Kedzie Avenue Monday morning.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are investigating two burglaries on the South Side Monday morning.

The first break-in occurred around 3:05 a.m. in the 8000 block of South Kedzie Avenue.

According to police, four male suspects got out of a black Jeep after backing into the front door of the liquor store. The burglars then stole merchandise from the store and fled the scene.

The second burglary occurred in the 800 block of West 87th Street at approximately 4:23 a.m.

According to police, several male suspects drove into the front door of the liquor store in a black Jeep.

The burglars then entered the store, stole goods and fled, police said.

The police did not provide any information as to whether there is a connection between the break-ins.

No one is in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
