1 dead after early morning accident in the canyon

CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Canyon Police Department reports on its social media page that a woman has died following an early morning car crash in Canyon.

According to Canyon Police, officers were called to a pedestrian crash in the 1900 block of 10th Avenue around 1:05 a.m. Monday.


Police said that during the course of the investigation, officers “learned that 28-year-old Ulise DeLao struck 27-year-old Brittany Torres while Torres was standing outside the vehicle.”

According to CPD, Torres was pronounced dead at the scene and DeLao was arrested for “manslaughter while intoxicated.”

The accident is currently being investigated by Canyon Police.
