Storms are possible in CLT in the morning

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Good morning, After isolated strong storms last night, we are expecting wetter weather this morning for your Memorial Day.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected this morning, with the weather improving in the afternoon. After today’s wet weather, we expect drier and more pleasant conditions for the rest of the week thanks to the cold front.

As for your Memorial Day, the cold front moving through the region is pushing a line of rain and thunderstorms through the Carolinas, with some of these storms potentially severe. The biggest concern with these storms is damaging winds, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The storms should mostly dissipate by midday, with only an isolated shower or storm expected in the afternoon. Highs today will be between 27 and 30 degrees.

The rest of the week in the Carolinas will be dominated by sunshine and decreasing humidity, with seasonal highs around 27 degrees. In fact, the weather will be more pleasant than it has been in recent weeks, as our dew points will likely drop to 4 degrees. There is a slight chance of rain on Friday, but otherwise the coming week looks quite pleasant for the region.

In the meantime, make sure you have a way to get weather alerts this morning! Happy Memorial Day and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country!
