Draymond Green returns from his indefinite suspension for the Warriors’ game against the Grizzlies on Monday (Video)

Draymond Green is coming back.

Green, who was suspended indefinitely last month for hitting Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the head, will return with the Golden State Warriors for Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Green has missed the last 16 games due to his most recent suspension, but was officially reinstated last week.

Green punched Nurkić in the Warriors’ game against the Phoenix Suns last month and hit him in the head, leading to his ejection and indefinite suspension. Green was also suspended for five games in November after putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold during a brawl in the opening seconds of a game.

During his suspension, Green “took steps that demonstrated his commitment to conforming his conduct to the standards expected of NBA players,” the league said. He also “attended meetings with an advisor” and with the league, the Warriors and the National Basketball Players Association, all of which are continuing. Green said he almost retired from basketball altogether, but commissioner Adam Silver talked him out of it.

Green averaged 9.7 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds in 15 games with the Warriors this season, his 12th in the league. The Warriors went 8-8 without Green and have lost three of their last four games heading into Monday’s game in Memphis. They hold a record of 18-21, which is better than just three teams in the Western Conference.

Although Green admitted he is in much better shape now after his suspension and he knows he needs to be a different player on the pitch, he won’t be completely changing his game.

“My goal is not to come back and worry about crossing the finish line, because I still have to come back and play the game the way I know how to play it and be the best that I can be “So my team can help me with that.” “We’re giving our team a chance to win,” Green said Tuesday. “Yes, that is an important point for me, not to cross the line with a referee. …But I didn’t make it this far and I wasn’t afraid to touch the line. I didn’t help this team and this organization become what we became by worrying about crossing the line.”
