Obituary of Bernard Biggie – MA

CHELMSFORD — Bernard H. Biggie, 97, a resident of Chelmsford since 1998 and formerly of Buffalo, New York, where he sang in choirs, died yesterday morning, March 1, at the home of his daughter. He was the husband of the late Ann M. (Hogan) Biggie.

He was born in Rathmel, Pennsylvania on October 1, 1908, son of the late Henry and Mary (Gerritz) Biggie.

Before his retirement, Mr. Biggie worked as a welder at General Motors in Buffalo.

He was a communicant of All Saints Church in Buffalo, where he was a member of the choir. He attended St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford. He also sang in several choirs in Buffalo.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Mary Ann and Michael Ablove of Chelmsford; three grandchildren, Lawrence P. Biggie of San Francisco, Kristen L. Hudson of Palos Verdes, Calif., and Lee A. Ablove and his wife, Lisa, of Charlestown, Boston; one great-grandson, Noah Bernard Ablove; a stepdaughter, Claudia J. Biggie of Orchard Park, New York; two sisters, Lorraine Mangano of Silver Creek, NY and Margaret Smeller of Buffalo; and a brother, Joseph Biggie of Buffalo.

Mr. Biggie was also the father of the late Lawrence R. Biggie.
