Due to extreme heat, classes in Birgunj are suspended for three days

BIRGUNJ, 27 MAY

Schools in Birgunj metropolis have been closed for three days. Due to rising temperatures in the Birgunj area, schools will remain closed for three days from May 29 to 31.

Due to this decision, both public and private schools will suspend classes for three days.

Arvindalal Karna, head of Birgunj Municipal Education Administration Department, said that the decision to close the schools was taken due to the extreme heat. He added that they had received reports to close the schools for parents, students and teachers for a few days. The decision was taken because the heat wave could seriously affect the health of the students and teachers while classes were being held in the schools.

According to the decision of the Metropolitan Education Committee of April 29, it was decided to start classes during the day at 6 a.m. due to adverse weather conditions (extreme heat). Since May 2, classes have been held in the morning.

There are 92 community schools and 138 private schools in the metropolis.
