Prison guard arrested for sexually exploiting a pre-trial detainee in Agar

Agar (Madhya Pradesh): Police have registered a case against a jail guard for allegedly sexually exploiting a youth who is facing trial for raping a minor, an official said on Sunday. According to the information, a remand prisoner lodged in the district jail boldly came forward and accused a jail guard of sexual abuse during the visit of the chief magistrate of the correctional facility.

Based on the victim’s complaint and the court’s directions, a case of unnatural act (unnatural sexual intercourse), molestation and criminal intimidation was registered with the Kotwali police against the jailer.

Ward Superintendent Anil Malviya said a remand prisoner, who has been in jail since 2022 for a minor rape case, had submitted a written application to the Chief Magistrate, who inspected the jail on Saturday.

According to the indictment, prison guard Rupsingh Jadhav is accused of taking a pre-trial detainee to another small barrack in the prison and allegedly forcing him to perform sexual acts over the past four months.

He even threatened dire consequences if he revealed it to anyone. He was also forced to commit suicide due to their actions. After the court order, a case was registered. The investigation is still ongoing and the police have not arrested the jailer.
