Highway 62 Sig Alert: CHP confirms man and child killed in car crash

News Channel 3 learned that two people were killed and three others injured in a car crash on Highway 62 on Sunday evening.

Cal Fire said the accident was reported after 7:30 p.m. on the highway near the I-10 westbound interchange.

CHP confirmed that the vehicle left the road and struck trees.

According to investigators, the driver, a 28-year-old man, was killed along with a four-year-old boy.

CHP said a woman and two children were taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The signal warning remained in effect on Sunday evening, with no announcement as to when the road would reopen.
