Massiel Taveras speaks out after viral incident in Cannes with usher Kelly Rowland

Massiel Taveras has spoken out about her experience at the Cannes Film Festival after a video of her arguing with a security guard on the red carpet went viral.

The Dominican actor and television presenter, 39, attended the premiere of the French film The Count of Monte Cristobased on the novel by Alexandre Dumas and directed by Matthieu Delaporte, when the incident occurred.

Just days earlier, former Destiny’s Child singer and solo artist Kelly Rowland was seen verbally abusing the same usher after she stood on the star’s dress. Marcello Mio Premiere.

On Instagram, Taveras wrote: The Count of Monte Cristo The red carpet was the “most impressive moment” she had ever experienced and she described the night as “unforgettable”.

In the viral video of Taveras at the premiere, the star posed on the red carpet in a dress with a white train decorated with an image of Jesus Christ.

The security guard could be seen leading the actor inside as he tried to pose for photos. Fans on social media claimed that this ruined the actor’s big moment in the spotlight.

The guard appeared to put her arm over Taveras’ head and chest as she attempted to usher her inside. Taveras then turned around and placed her hand on the guard’s face, apparently in revenge.

Taveras has since reposted articles containing Rowland’s comments about the same security guard on the red carpet to her Instagram story, without directly commenting on the incident herself.

“The woman knows what happened; I know what happened,” Rowland said AP Entertainment.

“I have boundaries and I stand by those boundaries and that’s all. And there were other women on the carpet who didn’t look quite like me,” she added.

“And they weren’t yelled at or pushed away or told to get out. And I stood firm, and she felt like she had to make her point. But I stood firm.”

Taveras praised Rowland, sharing several posts with detailed comments from the singer and telling her followers: “We need respect.”

Rowland became enraged when the security guard in Cannes stepped on the train of her dress and placed her hand very close to the star’s back.

The “Motivation” singer turned around to speak sternly to the security guard – who apparently didn’t back down – before Rowland raised her finger to visibly reprimand her.

Other staff at the event appeared to calm the security guard down as the singer left the argument behind him. The security guard was seen laughing with his colleagues.

Fans have since come to Rowland’s aid, with many saying the security guard disrespected her by stepping on her dress and trying to push her up the stairs.

Users on X/Twitter also defended Taveras. “This woman is a hater through and through,” wrote one person on X/Twitter about the usher. “She needs to be fired.”
